Pippa had been in the spotlight as the svelte bridesmaid to her Duchess sister at the much anticipated royal wedding, but now she is receiving positive press as girlfriend of St. Barths heir, James Matthews. James’ parents own the chic Eden Rock Hotel on the Caribbean island of St. Barths.

The Eden Rock Hotel, on St Jean Beach, was purchased by the Matthews in 1995 after the founder passed away. The family restored the original buildings and added new ones to create the present stunning hotel with 34 different accommodations including two ultra-luxe villas and two top of the line restaurants The Sand Bar situated directly on the beach, and On The Rocks, located high on the rock, both give you supreme and stunning views of the St. Jean Bay and are favorite dining spots for all visitors to St. Barth. It is said that the hotel has become “St. Barts most famous and most fashionable place to stay.”

WIMCO St. Barths is pleased to announce the opening of a new restaurant in St. Barths:  Bagatelle, which is located on Rue Samuel Fahlberg on Gustavia Harbour, in the former Le Bistro location.

Bagatelle, a lively French bistro from NYC, is excited to introduce its signature dining experience to St. Barths’ locals and tourists just in time for the holiday season. Bagatelle’s new international location will feature decor and cuisine influenced by the French Mediterranean, specifically the glamour and allure of Saint-Tropez. Bagatelle’s patrons will be treated to signature and seasonal menu items as well as a selection of hand-crafted, refreshing cocktails. In perfect South of France fashion, guests can gather at sunset for an aperitif to wind down after a long day at the beach or shopping. Staying true to its roots, Bagatelle St. Barths will also feature renowned DJs from all over the world, as well as unexpected surprises, giving guests the energy and ambiance that will keep them coming back for more.

The décor pays homage to the original location in NYC, infusing touches of elegance, paired with bold and eye-catching artwork, all set against a luxurious yet comfortable backdrop of white, beachy tones. At Bagatelle, comfort and excellent service is paramount. We want our guests to feel at home every time they dine with us.

Bagatelle will be open Monday through Friday from 12-11pm and Saturdays from 6-11pm, and will offer both indoor and outdoor dining. The Isle de France has a new Chef in the kitchen! Although Yann is not new at the Hotel, it is his first season as the Head Chef. “After a 3 month adventure in Argentina, I have come back full of positive energy and excited to start my 11th year at the Isle de France.” Yann, pictured right,  said to me yesterday.

Yann, Head chef at Isle de FranceThe Isle de France’s restaurant was my choice for a quiet evening with some friends and I was amazed by the dishes Yann served. Everything was delicious, but the desserts were quite simply incredible.
Mine was a swirl of chocolate and pralines, topped by a sprinkle of roasted hazelnuts and a home made chocolate ice cream, a dessert hiding at the bottom of the menu. My friends had the chocolate mousse and they both loved every bit of it, warm and fluffy yet creamy. These were desserts to fall in love…..

Yann has talent and the Isle de France is now showcasing it!

Nestled in a big garden, Le Tamarin is a great place to have a quiet drink before going out to dinner, or to have lunch after a lazy morning relaxing on Saline beach.

Named after the large Tamarind tree found in the garden, the setting of this restaurant is romantic with Balinese couches and chairs scattered on the lawn, soft light and music. There is also a wonderful little boutique in the back of the garden, with an eclectic and colorful selection of summer clothes.

I love to lounge in the garden with a nice cool glass of white wine, sushi and a few friends. Do try their warm Fondant au chocolat with a caramel heart…a delicious end to a quiet evening.
